A soulful singer with a distinctive voice, Sharon Kovacs gained international recognition with a unique style shaped by Betty Davis, Etta James, Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse, and Shirley Bassey. She started her career after studying in Tilburg and performing in Eindhoven.

Her breakthrough came in 2014 with the EP My Love, partly recorded in Cuba. The title track became a European hit, earning major recognition and awards. Her debut album Shades of Black (2015) topped the Dutch charts and led to performances at major festivals like Glastonbury and Sziget. Cheap Smell (2018) was praised for its raw emotion, while Child of Sin (2023), featuring a duet with Till Lindemann, was a commercial success.

In 2026, Kovacs plans to release a new album focused on electronic music, inspired by Berlin techno and pioneers like Kraftwerk, blending nostalgia with a fresh sound.
